Volunteers are needed in teaching, medical /health care, community development, humanitarian aid, and general volunteer projects. All skills needed- students and groups welcomed!
As a KARE volunteer, you’ll make a meaningful contribution to a community that openly welcomes you and your skills, working side-by-side with local people to help them achieve their goals. By living and working within the community, you will be able to thoroughly experience their culture and make personal connections with local people to truly make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of others.
Volunteers work in partnership with partner programs in the local community.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Teaching/Teaching English to Students/Assisting Teachers
- Sharing professional skills/experience
- Help Preserve Indigenous Culture
- Observing and assisting local health professionals (medical professionals only)
- Helping construct a school or medical clinic – or other needed structures
- Help build a well!
- Humanitarian Aid/Drought and Emergency Response Projects
- School Conservation Education programs
- School Sustainable Livestock Project
- School Sports, Art, or Music Programs
- Community development projects
- Sustainable Living Projects: solar, wind power, and community garden projects
- Solar oven project
Volunteers can develop their own service project that fits village needs and your area of expertise!
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
Volunteers will live with host families which will be inspected and overseen by local program coordinators. Volunteers are provided with housing, meals, project-related transportation, airport pick-up and drop-off, and some extracurricular programs. Not included are international travel costs, tours or travel outside the program, visa fees, travel insurance (recommended), or other personal expenses.
Volunteers can participate for in one week increments up to a full year, depending on personal preference. The program is ongoing throughout the year.
